Equipment

SIFT has a vast range of advanced manufacturing equipment onsite, designed to increase and scale-up production of food and beverage products.

At the forefront of technologies at SIFT is the High Pressure Processing (HPP) machine, the only open facility to have one in Western Australia.

The HPP is a non-thermal (5ºC – 20ºC) food and beverage preservation method that guarantees food safety and achieves an increased shelf life, while maintaining the organoleptic and nutritional attributes of fresh products.

It is based on the use of high isostatic pressure transmitted by cold water of up to 6,000 bar / 600MPa / 87,000 psi, held for a few minutes. This pressure is transmitted uniformly and instantaneously throughout the product, achieving an effect equivalent to pasteurization, but only using water and pressure instead of heat which offers multiple advantages for food and beverages products.

Equipment list and capabilities

High Pressure Processing (HPP) is a cold (5ºC – 20ºC) food and beverage processing technique based on the application of high levels of pressure transmitted by water. HPP technology can be applied to a wide variety of food and beverages. It’s the most effective solution for preserving products in a natural, fresh and safe way with an extended shelf life. The chamber size is 55L however cycle times vary based on the product. Throughput varies also based on packing configuration in the crates.

The unit is fitted with a scraped surface and mixing arms which are independently controlled. This kettle features 2 x half moon hinged lids for food hygiene. The interior of the tank has a dome base and is fitted with a product outlet including an air actuated discharge valve. The unit is equipped with a temperature controller.

The vacuum tumbler type CVM is designed for multifunctional use in an industrial food production environment. The wide field of application for the tumbler with various mixing tools ranges from tumbling, marinating, dry salting, mixing and blending. The vacuum tumbler opens the pores of meats and allows them to better absorb marinades. The CVM tumbler has a proven track record for various product scopes such as meat/poultry, fish/seafood, spices/marinades, delicatessen, dairy products, fruit/vegetables, vegan products and pastries.

300 litre fermentation kettle vat is perfect for small artisan cheese, fermented products such as pickles, kimchi etc. or dairy processes. It is capable of pasteurising and fermenting product. It has a movable agitator with variable speed and can be suitable for cooking thin liquids. Heating with an electrical single-phase heater up to ~ 87°C.

A fully automatic pneumatic driven filling, sealing and capping machine for preformed containers. It is suitable for a range of products that are liquids and pastes such as dips and yoghurts.

Used for particles size reduction. The gravity fed machine offers a compact size. The machine is often used as a pre-cutter. Generally, maximum input size in any dimension should not exceed 63.5 mm (2-1/2”).

NOTE: Products that are explosive or create a potentially explosive atmosphere should not be processed by any standard Urschel machine. A potentially explosive atmosphere could be created if processing your product creates fumes or dust in sufficient concentrations.

The side drive carton taper ensures secure tape application, offering consistent and precise sealing for a range of box sizes.

The bottle filler machine is used to fill liquids and other products into different bottle packaging. The machine applies capping to bottles from 100mL-1000mL.

Can apply perfect labels on round containers, including bottles, cans, jars, vials, tubes, and more.

The Industrial inkjet printer EC-JET printers provide a means of application of printed information onto a wide range of products. This information would typically be the date, production codes, consumer information, product or corporate identification, product traceability, and many others.

Horizontal flow wrap packaging machine which produces closed packs with three sealed edges from a reel of heat-sealable wrapping material. Flow wrappers are extensively used to wrap confectionery such as muesli bars or lollies, as well as baked items including biscuits and pizza’s.

Suitable heat-sealable materials can be used such as laminated or bonded polypropylene, polyethylene (Poly version), micro-perforated and shrink-wrap materials.

The Toyo Jidoki TT-8CR pre-made pouch fill/sealer features flexible specifications for many pouch formats and can comply with a variety of liquid product applications.

Typically used for doy (stand up) pouches, it is suitable for a range of applications such as retorted pouch foods, precooked foods, frozen foods, sauces, juices, processed seafood and more.

The R105 MF thermoforming packaging machine is used for packing a wide range of food products, such as steaks or salmon cuts, in attractive vacuum skin packs, MAP or pouches. This enables maximum shelf life and perfect product presentation even in small batches. The quality, freshness, colour and texture of the products are presented in a natural way. Thermoformed packs may also be suitable for further cooking processes.

It enables you to quickly and easily test O2 and CO2 levels in Modified Atmosphere Packages (MAP) of any shape or size. It delivers accurate headspace readings on all types of products, bringing fast, reliable quality control to your packaging process.

The Reich UK 2500 BE Food Pro oven is ideal for cooking, hot smoking, cold smoking, maturing, drying and sous vide cooking meats. It achieves the highest possible uniformity of products through its air distribution and moisture controlling system ensuring maximum yield.

The Riggs Autopack Model 1000 Series 3 depositor is a semi-automatic, mobile, versatile piston filler which provides consistent damage-free depositing of hot or cold liquid, semi-liquid and suspended solid products, into a variety of containers including jars, bottles, tubs, bowls, trays, bags and pouches.

Combining functionality, as well as modern appearance, the machine is ideal for meat plant production and can also be used for vegetables.

Dicers are designed to process fresh meat and bacon as well as some vegetables and cheese. Product is placed into a chamber, then automatically pushed through a grid set with cutting knives which cut the product into the uniform dice or strips required.

This retort provides a large reduction in sterilisation cycle times (5 to 10 times). This is due to its shaking process and its capacity to quickly raise the temperature. There is no overcooking and no loss of texture of the product. You get a coloured, high-quality product, which does not disintegrate and that has an optimal flavour due to the reduction in the cycle time.

During the entire cycle, shell internal pressure is regulated by injection or direct exhaust with two automatic valves controlled by the control panel.
